Here at the Sneaky Kitchen we respect and encourage all positive points of view (well, not proponents of junk food!), whether religious, political, cultural or regarding health or diet issues.  One of our contributors, Sherry Benson of Texas, is a devout Christian, and so many of her contributions are great inspirational pieces while others demonstrate her personal religious beliefs.   We first became acquainted with Sherry when she signed on as a Fuller Brush representative, and shortly after, she commenced sending some great stuff.  Not only have we already published a large number of items she has forwarded, we have a tremendous backlog, so we are including her as a contributor.  She writes:

"Bess, I'm so sorry it took me so long to get back to you.  I guess I'm just one of those people with such a busy life that even sitting down and typing at the computer sometimes seems too much.   That part I plan to change, via God's pushing me in the right direction.

When I was very young I read a book by Charles Swindoll, 'Growing Strong in the Seasons of Life'.  Of course then I didn't really understand the message he was trying to pass on, but as I have grown older, it has all come to make sense.  Because there are many seasons to each of our lives, and how we handle situations, and the progression of growth in spirituality, dictates what season we are in.

I would love for you to use the material I have sent you.  Any thing, any being, serves as a catalyst for ministry and spreading the word.  And we never know how one word, one message or even a smile of recognition may affect someone else's choices in life.

As far as denomination, I'm a Christian - at least that is the answer I give people when they ask me.  I was raised as a strict Roman Catholic.  Since that time I attend the Catholic church at 9:00 A.M. and the non-denominational church at 11:00 A.M..  I know that may seem a little strange, but I am spiritually fed at both places, and I think that is the most important thing of all.

It's not where we attend but what we learn, and that only comes from God's word itself.

If I had to pick one of the things in the Bible that I really try to hold to, that is to love each other as he has loved us.  And I am so glad to be at that point in my life, because it all boils down to one thing: the love our Lord has for us, and the love we should pass on to others.

Am I through growing in the spirit?  No, I don't think you ever stop growing.  You just keep on living and learning.  And above all things loving.

I look forward to meeting you one day.   In the meantime may the Lord Bless you and yours,

Your friend in Christ,   Sherry Benson"
