 Holiday Hints

Here's some hints contributed by Tupperware® consultants and distributors, and often suggested at parties:

EASY AS PIE

When making a pumpkin pie, mix the filling in a pitcher or a bowl with a pouring spout, such as that sold by Tupperware®   To fill the pie shell, place the pastry-lined pie plate on the oven shelf  (pulled out partway) and pour the filling into it.  Gently push the oven shelf back into place and bake the pie.  No spills, no fuss!

FOR CLEANER COUNTERS

When baking, make countertop cleanup easier by using a  pastry sheet (Tupperware® has one).  To keep it from sliding, moisten both the back of the pastry sheet and your counter, turn in a circular direction (and always roll it with the printed side out).

TURKEY TIPS

For a delicious and festive roast turkey, insert springs of fresh herbs in a single layer between the skin and breast meat, arranging them in a decorative pattern.  Then roast the turkey as usual.  The herbs will flavor the meat and show through the skin in an attractive design.

For crisper skin, pre-baste the turkey with margarine or butter.

ZESTY POTATOES

Give your mashed potatoes some pizzazz by chopping a small onion and boiling it with the potatoes.  When mashing the potatoes, include the onions from the pot for a zesty flavor!

START A TRADITION

If you bring a special appetizer, side dish, or dessert to dinner at a friend's or relative's home, bring your recipe along, too, dated and signed.  It will be a nice remembrance for the host and a treasured tradition for holidays to come.
