Two surprising ways you can strengthen your bones!

Another surprising way to maintain bone density is, according to the late website, SafetyAlerts, to garden!  In an article, "Dig In and Bone Up",  author Liz Lynch concludes that lifting, bending and hoeing have surprising benefits for women, more so than walking, aerobics, dancing, swimming or most other activities.  Why this is so isn't clear, but it's worth doing.

In fact, if you have a little patch of dirt and a green thumb, you can combine both methods of bone protection by growing your own vegetables!  What a pleasant (and tasty) way to protect dem bones.
