More Calcium Benefits: Weight Loss?

We already know that calcium-- at every age-- helps ward off osteoporosis or brittle bone disease.  It also reportedly improves blood pressure and has other benefits in the diet.  But here's a side effect I hadn't heard about before.   Read this Third Age report: Calcium: A Dieter's Best Friend?  

Note that supplements aren't necessarily the best way to go.  Regarding an experiment with mice, who were fed the human equivalent of 1,600 mg. daily, the author states:

"Those mice lost 42 percent of their body fat, and when the calcium came from dairy products, they lost 60 percent of their body fat." 

This is yet another reason to enjoy good food.
