Haiku

Granddaughter Jackie was asked in school to write a poem comparing any animal with a weather phenomenon.

The Eagle

Swooping down at the prey,
Clutching it close,
No one even daring to get in the way.

Carrying the prey for mere inches or miles
The prey having no chance against the beast
Parts dropped into many piles.

The prey is ripped and torn
Into many pieces and dumped
Leaving its owners to mourn.

Beware of the tornado.
