From Karen Danielson: This tostito recipe is one of my creations which will be featured in an up and coming cookbook. It's hard to find a store-bought version of tostitos that will stand up to the "Danielson shoveling technique" when it comes to eating salsas. These homemade tostitos make sturdy dippers that are great for scooping up salsa and chunky dips, as they do not break easily and are low in fat. Home Baked Tostito Chips Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a large cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
cooking spray Bake until golden brown and crispy. Watch very closely after about 6 minutes, for once they start to brown they can go from golden to brown to black in the time it takes you to say "drop the chalupa"! Repeat with remaining tortillas. After cooling completely, store in a covered, air-tight container.
Serving Ideas : Serve alone as a low fat snack or with salsa, guacamole or dip of your choice. Try Avocado Salsa for a real treat! web tool |
