I know this is not kitchen related, but because I did a search and found Avon on the site, I decided to post a notice about Avon that anyone thinking of selling Avon should know.

I have been an Avon represetative for a year. About 6 months ago, I started having problems with deliveries. I thought because of the holidays this was normal. But instead of problems getting better, they got worse. I have contacted the company through email and by phone, I have contacted my district manager by email and by phone and in person. They DO NOT care about their represetatives.

I am now on Campaign 4 of this year. It's been two weeks since the order went in and I still have not received the order. When the first shipment did not get to me I called the company, instead of shipping out a second order, they canceled the order. I emailed and called again to complain. They packaged the order and sent the information to UPS. I called UPS, the box still has not been sent to UPS, just the billing information.

I have put in my Campaign 5 order, and it is now on hold until I pay for the Campaign 4 order, which I still have not received.

Unless you are expecting to sell $500 or more right away don't go into business with Avon. They will sap you of every penny they can, but give you no support what so ever.

Initially I had problems, too.  I called the customer service number and they couldn't do much, although they've been GREAT about replacing anything broken or missing.  Next time the guy came (not UPS) I asked about the problems and what we could do.  It turns out I'm not in a normal delivery area, plus I'm not here early.  I agreed that delivery a day later than most people received theirs, and after noon, was acceptable and that I'd be here to receive it.  Since then I only had a problem once when our guy was on vacation.

1.  Be absolutely sure your address is clear and correct,

2.  If there's some special delivery instructions or you are hard to find, add instructions to your address,

3.  If it's a UPS delivery, get a tracking number and check it yourself at http://www.ups.com/tracking/tracking.html  This will tell you if it's Avon messing up or if UPS is dropping the ball and giving Avon the impression you really received the items, in which case one could understand Avon's attitude.

4.  Find out when delivery is expected and either be there to receive it, or make other arrangements.

For several years, I was in charge of shipping and tracking for all of South Florida for Fuller Brush, and you wouldn't believe the problems that occurred - and inevitably, people blamed Fuller Brush when they were not at fault.   I'm not saying it's not Avon; just get to the bottom of WHY it's happening and where the stuff is going!

I have verified everything with Avon. THey just don't care about their representatives unless they are making $1,000 a month. Anything less than that and they don't want to hear from you unless it's to pay them money. I eventually had to quit becuase after a year in business, I took a $900 loss because of all the fees they charge you. They are there to make money for themselves, not to help you make money.
