Bathroom Mold and Mildew

-
Use a strong cleaner such as Fuller Brush's
Bath Clean
to remove all lime, soap and scum from bathtub, showers and tile.
For regular cleaning, try the Tile and Grout Spray.
-
For easy reach, try the
Bathtub Swab. Or to avoid bending and
stretching altogether, use the Tub & Shower E-Z Scrub.
-
If stains from mildew remain, especially
between the tiles into the grout, no normal bathroom cleaner will bleach this
stain and completely kill the fungi. Rinse surfaces well and use a face
mask. Use bleach mixed with water in a spray bottle, and cover all stained areas
with this solution. Close bathroom door and LEAVE. An open window
or extractor helps. When fumes have mostly disappeared and walls are nearly
dry, wipe down with a damp, disposable rag. If any stains remain, repeat.
-
Since chlorine contaminates ground water,
can combine with other chemicals with damaging results, and has health issues,
it's better to prevent regrowth as long as possible with other products.
This can be done with Fuller Brush aerosol Industrial
Germicidal Cleaner or Spray 'n San™
Foaming Disinfectant Cleaner
which uses a trigger sprayer. Both products also kill bacteria and
viruses as well as cleaning and deodorizing. Use every day or two for
best results; wipe down with a towel or shammy.
-
If your bathroom lacks ventilation, one way
to eliminate much of the mold and mildew problem is to remove water from walls
and shower doors after each use, with an absorbent shammy or a squeegee.
-
Don't forget the floor! If you have
a mold or mildew problem in the bath, spores have surely drifted onto the floor.
Clean the floor by the same method.
