How to Sell Fuller Brush Products
by Divisional Director Joanne Rice and Director Ann Pepe

Catalog Sharing:  With friends and acquaintances at work, church, neighbors...

Party Plan:  Keep them short, fun, and informative.

Business to Business:  One of the best ways!  Stop in every business in town to introduce yourself and Fuller Brush service.  Banks are good (leave a catalog with each teller; tell them you will be back later to se if they want anything and to pick up the catalog).  Don't take up much time as they are supposed to be working.  "Go to the top" if you can, and talk to the president, manager, or head teller.  ALWAYS carry the sweeper with you and demonstrate.

Telemarketing:  Offer a free Fuller Brush Catalog and ask them the last time they saw a Fuller dealer, and what products they have used.  This can be done of the phone or door-to-door.  Be sure to follow up with a phone call to ask for an order.  Using the City Cross Reference Directory makes it easy.  Phone numbers and address are listed by street.  These are usually available at libraries.

Internet:  Send catalogs or distributor info to those who request them nationwide.  Be sure to state that you are an INDEPENDENT DISTRIBUTOR.  Ask for customers' email address, and send newsletters by email with special offers.

Phone Book:  Get a business phone and be listed in the business pages under "Brushes" as a Fuller Brush Independent Distributor.

Join:  Chamber of Commerce and other organizations.

Use Your Car to Find Customers:  Put a bumper sticker and a magnetic car sign on every vehicle in your household.  It's free advertising!

Mailings:  Send a catalog, sales brochure or postcard periodically to keep customers informed.  They can order from you or from your Fuller Direct Page.

Swap Meets, Flea Markets, Fairs, Home Shows:  Wherever other vendors are also selling good new merchandise.  You can "sell on the spot" or by Fuller Direct.  Always take the Sweeper with you and demonstrate!!  Have business cards or flyers (see R211) to hand out to everyone that passes by.  Even if they drop it, someone else may pick it up!

Door to Door - the Old Fashioned Way:  Use give-away gifts at the door - demonstrate - go through the catalog with the prospect.  Here's how:  Introduce yourself and show a business card.  Tell them you have a free gift and let them choose one.  Open up sales catalog and have her browse through it with you.  Demonstrate the sweeper.

Routes:  Cover a specific geographic area on a regular scheduled basis and let customer know when you will be back.

Flyers:  An inexpensive way to let people know that Fuller Brush is still available.  Leave in doors, on bulletin boards.  Use leftover catalogs (Master Catalogs and sales brochures) with "Sample Catalog - call for current prices" on front.

Recruit a Sales Force:  Use recruiting flyers (R196 and others).  Leave in customer delivery bags and in doors.  This way you can be in many places at once!!

Set a Goal:  $$ you want to earn; hours you want to work; number of customer you want each day; referrals for new customers; something you want to purchase with your new earnings; % you want to increase over last month; number of prospects for your downline, etc.

Use a Calendar to make our your schedule around other obligations.
