How to Sell Fuller Brush Products
by Executive Director Colleen Riddle-Vest

CATALOG SHARING - with friends and acquaintances at work, church, neighbors....

PARTY PLAN - Keep them short, fun, and informative.

BUSINESS TO BUSINESS - One of the best ways!  Stop in every business in town to introduce yourself and Fuller Brush service.  Banks are good (leave a catalog with each teller and tell them you will be back later to see if they want anything.)  Don't take up much time as they are supposed to be working.  "Got to the top" if you can and talk to the President, Manager or Head Teller.  ALWAYS CARRY THE SWEEPER WITH YOU & DEMONSTRATE!

TELEMARKETING - Offer a free Fuller Brush Catalog and ask them the last time they saw a dealer and what products they have used.  This can be done on phone or door to door.  Be sure to follow up with a phone call and ask for an order.  Using a CITY CROSS REFERENCE DIRECTORY makes it easy.  Phone numbers and addresses are listed by street These are usually available at libraries.

INTERNET - Send catalog or distributor info to those who request them nationwide.  Be sure to state that you are an INDEPENDENT DISTRIBUTOR.

PHONE BOOK - Get a business phone and be listed in the business pages under Fuller Brush Independent Distributor.

JOIN - Chamber of Commerce and other organizations.

MAILINGS - Send a catalog periodically to keep them informed.  They can order from you or from Fuller Direct.

SWAP MEETS, FLEA MARKETS, FAIRS, HOME SHOWS where other vendors are also selling GOOD NEW MERCHANDISE.  You can "sell on the spot" or Fuller Direct.  ALWAYS TAKE THE SWEEPER WITH YOU TO DEMONSTRATE.

DOOR TO DOOR - THE OLD FASHIONED WAY - Use give-away gifts at the door - Demonstrate - go through the catalog WITH prospect.  Introduce self and show I.D. card.  Tell them you have a free gift and let them choose one.  Open up sales catalog and her her browse through it with you.  DEMONSTRATE THE SWEEPER!

ROUTES - Cover a specific geographic area on a regular scheduled bases and let customer know when you will be back.

FLYERS - An inexpensive way to let people know that FULLER BRUSH is still vailable.  Leave in doors, on bulletin boards.  Use leftover catalogs (Master and sales) with "Sample Catalog - call for current prices" on front.

RECRUIT A SALES FORCE - Use recruiting flyers (R196 and others).  Leave in customer delivery bags and in doors.  This way you can be in many places at once!!

SET A GOAL - $$ you want to earn; hours you want to work; number of customers you want each day; referrals for new customers; something you want to purchase with your new earnings; % you want to increase over last month; number of prospects for your downline, etc.

USE A CALENDAR TO MAKE OUT YOUR SCHEDULE AROUND OTHER OBLIGATIONS.
