Fresh Tomato Basil Sauce
for Pasta or Polenta

    

2 tbsp/30 mL Garlic & Parsley Grapeseed Oil
2 tbsp/30 mL chopped onions
2 tsp/10 mL Watkins Garlic Flakes
2 large tomatoes, seeded and coarsely chopped
2 tsp/10 mL Watkins Basil
Watkins Sea Salt and Black Pepper


Sauté onion and garlic flakes in the grapeseed oil on medium heat until onions are soft.  Add the chopped tomatoes and basil and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over your favorite pasta or polenta.

Makes 1-1/2 cups sauce.
